Competitions
Tage Andersson made the break-through that was needed for the new organization. He arranged for four countries to take part in the 50th Anniversary of the Baltic Games which were held in Malmo, Sweden from 26 to 28 August 1964. In a points-competition, arranged at an excellent venue, teams representing Sweden, England, Netherlands and Denmark met in a true international tug of war competition staged at the 720 kilos weight class.
Meetings
The third meeting of the Federation was held in Malmo (at the Baltic Games); minutes were taken by Bill Hillyard. Rudolf Ullmark, the TWIF Chairman, had brought a friend, Fugi Fuchs of Switzerland. They were colleagues in AIBA. (Boxing), Dr Ullmark being the President of the Medical Commission. Mr. Fuchs enjoyed the tug of war sport at the Baltic Games and agreed to work for the development of the tug of war sport in Switzerland. He was appointed Press Liaison Officer. Fugi Fuchs soon formed a number of clubs in Switzerland and contacted Mr. Hutton to seek assistance and advice from and English Coach.
