Its first task was to decide on uniform regulations for competitions. At that time the pullers in Sweden remained standing in their, previous made, holes during the pull. Result was determined according to a points system. In those days the teams were mostly from clubs of companies and factories in Sweden. In 1958 Swedish Tug-of-war Association affiliated to the Swedish Confederation of Sports, which assisted the association in their further growth and development.
